High Schooler Struck, Killed By Car Jogging In Monmouth County
A 16-year-old girl died while jogging early Friday, Feb. 17 in Monmouth County, authorities said. The Allentown High School student was struck by a Kia Soul heading north on Route 539 in Upper Freehold Township around 7:45 a.m., New Jersey State Police said. The driver crossed over the center line and then up a grass embankment after hitting the girl near milepost 37.72, State Police said. Crash Closes Busy Road At Bergen-Rockland Border
A busy thoroughfare at the Bergen-Rockland border was temporarily closed following a crash early Wednesday evening. A Kia Soul slammed head-on into a utility pole near the corner of Spring Valley and Upper Saddle River roads in Montvale, a little over 100 yards from the border. There was no immediate word on injuries. A utility crew was summoned to make repairs. The subcompact SUV had to be towed. State Police: Driver Injured In Hunterdon County Crash On Route 78
A driver was hospitalized with minor injuries Monday morning in a two-car crash on Route 78 eastbound in Hunterdon County, state police said. The crash — involving a Kia Soul and Lexus ES 300 — occurred near milepost 8.2 in Bethlehem Township around 9:50 a.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. The Soul driver was taken to Hunterdon Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while the Lexus driver and passenger were uninjured, Goez said. Trashy Move: Sussex County Man Charged With Dumping Garbage On Trump Supporter's Lawn
It was a trashy move, and police in Sparta know it, too. Richard Kellar of Franklin was arrested July 1 for dumping garbage on the Sparta lawn of a man flying a Donald Trump flag. “Mr. Keller had such disdain for President Trump that it enraged him that someone was displaying a Trump flag,” Sparta Lt. John Lamon said. The homeowner told police months ago that someone had been dumping trash on his lawn.
