Police: Morristown Shoplifter, 54, Assaults ShopRite Loss Prevention Officer
A Morristown man assaulted the loss prevention officer at a local ShopRite before fleeing the store with stolen goods earlier this week, authorities charged. Anthony Ross, 54, assaulted the officer at ShopRite on E. Hanover Avenue on Tuesday, causing minor injuries, Hanover Police Chief Mark D. Roddy said. Ross was later located by police, arrested and charged with shoplifting and robbery, authorities said. He was released pending an appearance in court.

Man Urinates On Morris County Municipal Building Moments After Release For Same Charge
A 23-year-old Irvington man urinated on the Hanover municipal building after being released from police custody for the exact same charge, authorities said. Jason Jackson was released from custody following a public urination charge on August 15, Hanover police said in a release. Moments after exiting the building, Jackson was seen urinating on the brick wall located directly in front of the department, authorities said. Jackson was issued a second township ordinance and again released pending a court appearance.

PD: Accused Montclair Car Thief Assaults Officers During Morris County Search For Stolen Jaguar
A Montclair man caught with a stolen Jaguar resisted arrest and fought police who asked for the keys at a Morris County hotel, authorities said. A report of a stolen 2020 Jaguar led police to a local Marriott hotel on Tuesday, August 4, where a witness told officers that a thin black man had parked a Jaguar in the parking lot and locked it before heading east down Route 10, Hanover police said in a release. Police: Man Breaks Glass Door At Hanover 7-Eleven Over Soda Price Dispute
A man who police say punched and broke a window during a dispute over soda prices at a 7-Eleven in Cedar Knolls has been charged with criminal mischief and simple assault. Hanover Police were called to 7-Eleven on Ridgedale Avenue for a dispute on Tuesday, May 5, authorities said. Further investigation and review of video surveillance footage revealed that Kevin Drury, 44, of West Orange had punched and broken one of the store’s front glass door panels during a fight over soda prices, authorities said. A detective with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 companion were officially declared the winners of on A&E reality series "America’s Top Dog." Detective Corporal Michael McMahon and his K-9 partner, a Belgian Malinois named Kaiser ('Kai' for short), took home the grand prize of $25,000 on Wednesday night's episode.
