A New Jersey fugitive wanted in a deadly train station shooting and a home invasion was arrested in northeastern Pennsylvania, authorities said. U.S. Marshals took 19-year-old Damian Bass into custody, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Friday, Sept. 6. Bass' last known address was in Fanwood. Bass was charged with first-degree murder and two weapons offenses. He was accused of shooting and killing 43-year-old James Hailey of Newark. A 36-year-old Denville resident was arrested and charged with being under the influence while instructing young children on Monday, March 25, police said. Police responded to KimSwims at 424 Route 46 West after receiving a report Kyle Cooper was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said. Attorney: NJ Man Accused Of Scalding Cashier With Coffee Was 'Painted As Monster'
The lawyer of a man accused of scalding a gas station cashier with hot coffee has released a statement on behalf of his client who for weeks has been petitioning to make mask-wearing unlawful. John DeDolce, 42, of Randolph was issued a summons for simple assault, endangering another person and violating an executive order following the August 7 incident, which occurred at the QuickChek on Ridgedale Avenue in Cedar Knolls.
