Victim ID'd In Fatal East Orange Crash: Prosecutor The pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in East Orange on the early morning of Saturday, Nov. 16 has been identified as a 24-year-old man, authorities said. Darian Anthony Martinez was hit by a 2024 Honda Accord at 33 Ampere Pl., at 5:30 a.m., the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said, though they did not say when or where he died. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

Two Pedestrians Fatally Struck By Truck in Elizabeth: Authorities Two pedestrians were struck and killed by a truck in Elizabeth on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 18, authorities said. The two pedestrians were crossing the roadway at Routes 1 and 9 and Maple Avenue, when a tractor trailer that was stopped at the light proceeded forward when the southbound light turned green, a spokeswoman for the city said. The pedestrians were fatally struck, while the driver remain on scene, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

Woman Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Belleville: Authorities A 78-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Belleville on Friday, March 22, authorities said. At 8:53 a.m., Teresita Cenit was hit by a car while walking on the 100 block of Union Avenue, Thomas Fennelly, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  She was transported to University Hospital in Newark where she was pronounced dead soon after, Fennelly said. The driver remained on scene, Fennelly said. The crash remains under investigation.

Officials ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In North Jersey NJ Transit officials have identified the pedestrian fatally struck by a train this week. Naji Jacob, a 74-year-old New Providence resident, was struck and killed by a train near Murray Hill Station in New Providence early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27. At 5:05 a.m., a Gladstone Branch train en route to Hoboken, fatally struck Jacob, NJ Transit officials said. There were no injuries to the people on board the train, NJ Transit said.

Newark Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle Driven By 70-Year-Old: Summit PD A 66-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Summit on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 20, police said. At 6:51 a.m. police responded to River Road, between Morris Avenue and Plain Street, and found the woman struck by a 2018 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 70-year-old Hopatcong man.  The woman was pronounced dead after being transferred to Overlook Medical Center.  The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau. Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle Crossing Highway: Linden Police (Update) A 60-year-old Linden man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Monday, Dec. 18, police said. A 78-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman from Old Bridge were heading south on Route 1 when they fatally struck the man as he crossed the highway at 6:49 p.m., police said.  The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police declined to identify who was driving the vehicle, citing the ongoing investigation. State Police: Girl, 15, Struck And Killed By Car On Route 80 A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car on Route 80 early Tuesday morning, state police said.  The girl ran into the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle eastbound near milepost 45.3 in Parsippany-Troy Hills just before 3:30 a.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, Goez said. Her name was not released. The center and right lanes were closed for about three hours during the crash investigation.
