An Elizabeth police officer will not face charges following a pursuit that left a taxi cab driver and his passenger dead in Dec. 2023, authorities said.
A state grand jury declined to indict Officer Michael White on Monday, Jan. 27 State Attorney General Matthew Platkin said.
On Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at 5:42 a.m., police were pursuing a vehicle of interest after gunshots were heard in Elizabeth on Fourth Avenue and Centre Street, Platkin said.

Three teenagers were in custody after leading Paramus police on a pursuit that ended in a crash just off the Garden State Parkway on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said.
