Dog Killed, 25-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured By Hit-Run Driver In Atlantic County: Police A man and his dog were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Atlantic County, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue in Absecon, where the dog was killed. The man, identified as a 25-year-old Absecon resident, was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver, identified as 52-year-old Byron A. Jones of Mays Landing, fled the scene but was later apprehended after officers located a vehicle matching the description…

Man Pulled Knife On Business Owner In Jersey Shore City's Downtown, Police Say A man was wanted for an armed robbery in downtown Absecon's business district, authorities said. Officers responded to the robbery on New Jersey Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release.  A 911 caller reported that a man pulled out a knife and demanded money from a business owner. The owner got out of the business uninjured and the suspect ran away from the scene. Gregory Ganski III, 24, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for weapons charges and his outstanding warrants, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. A 14-year-old, a 13-year-old, and two 12-year-old boys were given several charges, the Galloway Township Police Department said in a news release on Monday, Aug. 12. Absecon police received a report of several people trying to break into vehicles in the city at around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. Man Fired Shots In South Jersey 'Motel Corridor', Police Say A Mays Landing man was accused of firing a gun in a South Jersey area with several motels.  Desmon Wilson, 23, was arrested on Friday, June 14, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to a report of fired shots on the Route 30 "motel corridor" just before 10:30 p.m. Police began searching for possible victims in the area. After reviewing surveillance video, Wilson was eventually identified as the suspect and taken into custody. Wilson was charged with several weapons offenses. Investigators said they've found no evidence of any shooting victims. …

Everette Williams, 52, was arrested on Thursday, May 16, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. He was facing charges in the deadly crash on Route 30 West on Saturday, Feb. 17.
