5 Hospitalized In DWI Golf Cart Simulation Crash At Wildwood National Night Out, Police Say
Five people were hospitalized in a DWI simulation involving a golf cart operator by a juvenile and an officer at National Night Out in Wildwood on Tuesday, Aug. 6, authorities said. The impaired operator simulation has been running at the annual event for 20 years, Wildwood police said in a news release. During one of the course operations Tuesday evening, a speed-governed cart operated by a juvenile and a Wildwood operator left the enclosed course at Fox Park and struck several people, police said. Firefighters Injured At Trucking Company Fire In South Jersey (

Firefighters from multiple departments In Camden County battled a trucking company fire on Friday, July 5, authorities said. At approximately 3:30 p.m., Gloucester Township police observed heavy smoke at Marksmen Transport, 1900 Erial Road in Blackwood, they said. Officers located flames in the rear lot of the commercial business which were contained to several large box trailers and a truck, police said. There were no injuries to any employees of the business, however, three firefighters were taken to local hospitals to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.&…

A family of five from Camden County was displaced by an overnight apartment fire, authorities said. Businesses below the apartment, where the fire began, also were damaged, Gloucester Township police said. On Wednesday, July 3, at approximately 1 a.m., Gloucester Township police were dispatched to 32 N. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood for a report of a structure fire. Person Suffers Severe Leg Injury Cutting Tree Branches In South Jersey
A person in Atlantic County was seriously injured while in a tree cutting branches, officials said. Pleasantville firefighters responded to a yard on North Woodland Avenue at around 12:16 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, the fire department said in a Facebook post. Crews found the person pinned by a large branch eight feet up in the tree. Firefighters used ladders and a rope system to lift the branch and rescue the victim. Woman Clinging To Tree, Her Dog Rescued After Falling In Ocean County
Firefighters rescued a woman who was clinging to a tree after she and her dog fell in Brick Township, officials said. Herbertsville firefighters responded to the scene on Winding River Road at around 6:44 p.m. on Monday, June 17, the fire company said in a Facebook post. Crews found the woman and her dog fell 10 to 15 feet down an embankment. The woman was hanging onto a tree to prevent falling any further. The search for a missing man ended in tragedy on Friday, June 7, when police found he'd died by suicide in a popular New Jersey hiking area.
