A North Carolina man was accused of shooting at another driver during a road rage incident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County late on Halloween night, authorities said. Brandon Rudd, 34, of South Mills, NC, was charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses, state police said in a news release on Thursday, Dec. 12. Overturned Tractor Trailer Shuts All Lanes At NJ Turnpike/Route 3 Ramp
An overturned tractor-trailer brought traffic to a halt on the NJ Turnpike ramp to Route 3 in East Rutherford on Monday morning, Dec. 9, according to the NJDOT website. Emergency response vehicles remained on the scene as of 10:30 a.m., with all westbound lanes closed at Interchange 16W, the website reported. Troopers were looking for three men suspected of stealing jewelry from a vehicle at a New Jersey Turnpike rest stop in Mercer County, authorities said. Passenger Jumps Out Of Moving SUV On NJ Turnpike In Bergen County: Police
One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after plunging out of a moving vehicle along the New Jersey Turnpike, police said. A Hyundai SUV was traveling north on the western spur in East Rutherford at milepost 113.2 around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 when the front seat passenger jumped from the moving car, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The passenger struck the pavement and sustained serious injuries. No further information was provided.

Tractor Trailer Overturns On NJ Turnpike In Newark
A tractor trailer overturned on the NJ Turnpike Tuesday morning, Aug. 6 in Newark. According to the NJDOT, it happened on the the western spur's exit ramp to Interchange 15E/Routes 1&9 around 9:30 a.m. As of press time, the left shoulder and ramp were both partially blocked.

Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said.
