Rhonda Iwanski, Pillar Of Sussex County Community, Dies Rhonda Iwanski, a longtime Sussex County resident who was heavily involved in multiple communities, died on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Newton Medical Center after a long illness, her obituary on the Wood Funeral Home website says. She was 67 years old. Former Nun, 96, Killed By Car, Driver Cited In Sussex County, Police Say A 96-year-old former nun was struck and killed by a vehicle last week in Sussex County, police said. Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said. The driver had been turning left from Elm Street around 11 a.m., Newton police said. Travis was taken to Newton Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, while the driver was issued a summons for failure to yield, police said.
