Former Flemington Councilman Pleads Guilty To Distributing Cocaine: Prosecutor
A former councilman in Flemington pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine on Wednesday, June 19 and faces up to five years in prison as part of his plea agreement, authorities said. Malik Johnston a.k.a. Pippin Folk has faced numerous legal problems over the past year. In April, Johnston, 47, was indicted for theft for stealing $1,000 from the club's bank account at a branch in Bridgewater, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said. The same burglar apparently committed a pair of overnight commercial break-ins 12 minutes and two miles apart in Fair Lawn, authorities said. Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. As of 2:30 p.m., one victim had died and the other remains critical, Ciccone and McFadden said. Man Fired Gun 9X Times To Break Up Fight, Warren County Prosecutor Says
A 34-year-old Port Murray man was recently arrested and charged after he fired a gun nine times in Warren County on Friday, May 24, authorities said. At 10:15 p.m., police in Mansfield Township responded to Gulick Street after receiving a report of gunfire, Acting Warren County Prosecutor Anthony Picione said. An investigation found that Kajaun Manley had fired nine gunshots to break up an altercation, Picione said. No one was shot, Picione said.
