He was riding a motorized bicycle east on 26th Street when he collided with a 2016 Hyundai traveling south on New York Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. The driver of the car remained at the scene, the prosecutor's office said.
No summonses had been issued as of Thursday afternoon.
The man was taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries, the prosecutor's office also said.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Union City Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345.
