A 16-year-old Paterson boy tossed a loaded gun while running from city detectives, authorities said. Detectives Corey Davis, John Rikowich, Muhammed Dombayci and Wisam Salameh spotted the teen at the corner of Mercer and Franklin Streets -- where several shots had recently been fired -- shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said. A Paterson man hanging out in a large group partying on a local street corner was caught with a loaded handgun after he tried to run from detectives, authorities said. Paterson Police Seized 3 Loaded Guns From Two Juveniles, One Adult
Paterson police seized three loaded guns – one of which had been stolen – in a trio of separate incidents just days apart. Two of those taken into custody were each 17 years old, city public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said. One of the juveniles bolted after seeing Detectives Yamil Pimienta, Muhammed Dombayci, Levis Qirjako, and John Rikowich approaching near the corner of Highland and Lyons streets, Speziale said.
