An associate business professor at Kutztown University has died after he and another man's bodies were found frozen on one of the tallest mountains in Turkey last weekend, according to university administrators and local news reports. Dr. M. Halim Dalgin a 58-year-old Adana, a Turkey native living in Mountain Top, Luzerne County, had been climbing a mountain near the country's southeastern border with Iran, multiple outlets report. Douglas Yorke Jr., Passionate Author From Jersey Shore, Dies After Easter Sunday Crash
A Monmouth County author died from his injuries after an SUV struck him while he rode his bike on Easter Sunday, authorities said. Douglas Yorke Jr., 72, of Red Bank, was hit by a black 2017 Honda HR-V at around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 31, a Shrewsbury police spokesperson said. The crash happened on Samara Drive, just south of Obre Place. Yorke was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune to be treated for his injuries. Former NFL defensive end Rob Burnett was arrested and charged with DWI after crashing his truck a couple blocks from his Franklin Lakes home, authorities said. Burnett, 53, was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram that veered off Summit Avenue and crashed in a wooded area off Route 208 near Lynn Drive shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Capt. John Bakelaar said.
