Propane Tank Caused Home Explosion That Killed 45-Year-Old Jersey Shore Man: Prosecutor
A propane tank is to blame for the home explosion that killed a 45-year-old Jersey Shore man on Tuesday, Oct. 31, authorities said. Kevin Thomas, 45, was found on his front lawn of 253 Neptune Dr., with serious burns, and airlifted to Temple Burn Center in Philadelphia after the explosion that turned into a fire ravaged his house, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Thomas died at the hospital, said Billhimer alongside Stafford Township Police Chief Thomas Dellane. NJ Police Sergeant Left Handgun With Children: Prosecutor
A police sergeant on the Jersey Shore has been arrested after leaving a Beretta handgun with children, authorities said. Andrew Wahlberg, 50, of the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township, left the 9mm gun unsecured and accessible to juveniles on May 18, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Stafford Township Police Chief Thomas Dellane said. No other details were released about the incident. Wahlberg was charged with endangerment and released on Wednesday, May 25, pending a first appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.

Drone Finds Bodies Of Missing Jersey Shore Couple In Pine Barrens, No Foul Play Suspected
Police using a drone found the bodies Tuesday of an Ocean County couple who went missing two weeks ago. No foul play was suspected, authorities said. The bodies of Lorraine Parker, 60, and Gary Parker, 67, "were located deceased in a densely wooded area of Warren Grove in the vicinity of their residence," Stafford Township police announced in a release. The Costco customer accused of making "terroristic threats" after losing his temper on a Jersey Shore cashier has been in trouble with the law at least a dozen times before in seven states, according to public court records. Last week's heated exchange involving William G. Commauf, 48, of Barnegat was captured on video.
