The Monday, July 18 threats came at about 3:30 p.m. at 1126 Route 9 in Old Bridge, at the Edison Walmart on Route 27 and at the East Brunswick Walmart on Route 18. The carjacking attempt occurred at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3 on Route 18 in East Brunswick, initial reports said.  A high-speed chase ensued along Route 27 in North Brunswick. The chase reached speeds of 80 mph, an unconfirmed report said. It was unclear if the armed robberies are the same ones that occurred earlier Thursday on the Rutgers University campus.
