Police Talk Atlantic City Woman Down From Wanting To Kill Store Clerk
A knife-wielding woman was arrested after attempting to rob a store and threatening to stab the South Jersey clerk, authorities said. At 7:01 p.m. on Tuesday, Atlantic City Police Officers Valmir Loga and Christopher Dodson responded to Ocean Body Oil in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue on a report of a woman armed with a knife refusing to leave the store, police said. Atlantic City Pedestrian Struck, Killed
A 66-year-old woman from Atlantic City was struck and killed by a vehicle as she crossed the road, authorities said. Atlantic City patrol officers responded to Tennessee and Atlantic Avenues at 4:12 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, according to Lt. Kevin Fair, a police department spokesman. Officers arrived to find Jill Collette suffering from serious injuries, according to Fair. Atlantic City police arrested seven people and recovered three handguns and an assortment of drugs in separate incidents, authorities said. Just before midnight on Thursday, patrol officers responded to mile marker 55 in the westbound lanes of Route 30 on a report of a one car motor vehicle crash, police said. Seven protestors including the event's organizer were arrested during a Black Lives Matter march through Atlantic City streets, which the city's mayor called "selfish and clownish" after futile attempts to postpone it.
