School Bus Driver Fell Asleep Before Crashing Into Howell House, No Children On Board: Police A 22-year-old bus driver is suspected to have fallen asleep at the wheel before crashing into a house in Howell, authorities said. The crash into the side of a house occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on Asbury Road. Lt. Christian Antunez, a Howell Police Department spokesman, said the driver was injured but no children were on board. The driver was later charged with careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, he said. The driver had just dropped students off at Howell High School, he said. Tickets Issued In Lakewood School Bus Crash, 6th Crash Since September: Police A Lakewood school bus carrying three children collided with a car in which both drivers were ticketed, authorities said. Two people in the car were hospitalized. It was at least the sixth school bus crash in Lakewood this school year, according to prior news accounts. The buses are operated by Jay's Bus Service based in Lakewood.
