Videos Capture Newark Housing Authority Building Explosion
Video footage captured the moment a building owned by the Newark Housing Authority exploded last week. Six people, including one with severe burns, were injured in the explosion at 39 S. Pine Lane on Friday, July 21, just after 6:05 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Newark Police Department said (scroll for videos). The explosion collapsed the building, leaving 31 people displaced. Who Dumped 500 Pounds Of Pasta In Central Jersey?
Old Bridge police are investigating the dumping of 500 pounds of pasta along a brook, township officials said. The Department of Public Works cleaned up about 15 wheelbarrows' worth of spaghetti, macaroni and other pasta after photos circulated on social media. Police were contacted after township officials learned of the piles of pasta, according to Himanshu Shah, Old Bridge’s business administrator. Middletown Police, EMS, Firefighters Respond After Front-End Loader Strikes Town DPW Employee
First responders in Middletown were called Friday afternoon to a report of a life-threatening injury involving a front-end loader, authorities said. A Middletown Township DPW employee may have been struck by the heavy equipment, according to initial reports. The victim was reported to be a township Department of Public Works employee, police said. Both of his legs and an arm possibly were crushed by the machinery, according to an initial, unconfirmed report.
