A Kendall Park woman was killed when she was in a car that was hit by an SUV that ran a traffic light in South Brunswick, authorities said. Ranjinidevi Ramakrishnan, 43, died in the crash, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a news release on Thursday, Oct. 10. Two Pedestrians Fatally Struck By Truck in Elizabeth: Authorities
Two pedestrians were struck and killed by a truck in Elizabeth on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 18, authorities said. The two pedestrians were crossing the roadway at Routes 1 and 9 and Maple Avenue, when a tractor trailer that was stopped at the light proceeded forward when the southbound light turned green, a spokeswoman for the city said. The pedestrians were fatally struck, while the driver remain on scene, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

Camden Man Sentenced In Fatal-Hit Run Crash In Central Jersey: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old man from Camden has been sentenced to 11 years in New Jersey State Prison for a fatal hit-and-run crash in Middlesex County. Giovanni Gaines-Little was sentenced on Monday, July 29 in connection with a crash that occurred on Feb. 25, 2023, in South Brunswick, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. Motorcyclist, 45, Killed In Route 1 Crash: Police
A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Essex County was killed in a crash on Route 1 in Edison, authorities said. Alexander Chong of Belleville was killed when he struck the rear of a vehicle stopped at a red light, Edison police said. He ended up under the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The crash occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 northbound near Old Post Road North. SUV Knocked Onto Roof In Westwood Pickup Crash
Police are investigating a crash at a busy Westwood intersection that knocked an SUV onto its roof. No serious injuries were immediately reported when a Dodge RAM pickup truck t-boned a GMC Yukon at the corner of Broadway and Irvington Street, next to the NJ Transit tracks, shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15. No injuries were reported after two Paterson police units collided, taking out a traffic light. Pursuit-Crash Of Stolen Car Hospitalizes Six In Elizabeth
Six people were hospitalized after a stolen vehicle leading a police pursuit crashed in Elizabeth Monday night, May 15, authorities said. The stolen had carrying two suspects ran a traffic light and struck a few other cars around 10 p.m., near Westfield and Elmora avenues, city spokesperson Ruby Contreras said. Multiple people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled on foot — with one in custody and the other possibly still at large as of Tuesday morning.
