Catalytic Converter Thief From Paterson Caught Covered In Dirt, Leaves, Garfield PD Says
Garfield police caught a catalytic converter thief red-handed, authorities said.
A Monroe Street resident heard a noise and found Louis G. Cadet Jr., 35, of Paterson doing something under a parked vehicle shortly before midnight Wednesday, Capt. Richard Uram said.
Cadet, who was carrying a tool bag, quickly fled as the resident approached him, he said.
Sgt. Michael Bocco and Officer Joseph Kopacz found Cadet in the area of Midland Avenue and Commerce Street moments later “covered in dirt and leaves as if he had been laying on the ground,” Uram said.

Road Rage: Driver With 1-Year-Old Son In Car Pulls Gun On Motorist In Garfield, Police Charge
A driver from Paterson had his 1-year-old son with him when he pulled a gun on another motorist during a road-rage incident in Garfield, authorities said.
Tanner Young, 27, remained held Saturday in the Bergen County Jail pending a hearing in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack following his arrest the night before, records show.
The other driver may have cut Young off, leading to the Midland Avenue confrontation, responders said.
