Pit Bull That Mauled 3-Month-Old Boy Euthanized: Prosecutor
A pit bull that mauled a 3-month-old boy on Saturday, March 9 in Woodbridge has been euthanized by a veterinarian, authorities said. The parents of the infant who was attacked and killed, meanwhile, were released from an area hospital later Saturday, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said on Monday, March 11. The attack took place at about 6:15 a.m. at a home on Mereline Avenue in the Avenel section of town. The investigation remains ongoing. There have been no charges filed, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor said on Monday.

An Egyptian national who carjacked a motorist outside Hackensack High School resident was captured more than 30 miles away, authorities said. The 42-year-old victim from Hackensack told responding officers that he was assaulted and his 2012 Toyota Corolla taken around 9:45 a.m. on Labor Day, Sept. 4, said Hackensack Police Capt. Michael Antista, the officer in charge of the department. The victim refused treatment for minor injuries, the captain said. Elizabeth Motorcyclist, 24, Killed In Central Jersey Collision
A 24-year-old motorcyclist from Union County was killed when he rear-ended an SUV in Woodbridge, authorities said. Samuel Naranjo-Perez was traveling south on the 1200 block of St. Georges Ave. near North Hill Road when his 2020 Ducati Diavel motorcycle slammed into the back of a 2020 Ford Explorer about 7 p.m. Wednesday, Woodbridge police said.
