The Edison woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a speeding car at a crosswalk on Saturday, Dec. 23. Kamath sustained a skull fracture, spinal fracture, internal bleeding, pelvic fracture, multiple collar bone fractures and other severe internal injuries and was unconscious for five days. She remains hospitalized.
Kamath has launched a fundraiser to assist her with overwhelming medical bills. As of Friday, Jan. 5, more than $108,000 has been raised.
"I have been a self -employed single mother for over a decade and I am the only source of primary income into the family of three including my two children," Kamath said. " The recovery and rehabilitation process will take months."
