North Jersey Submarine Burglar From Long Island Enters Program That Can Clear His Record
A Long Island man who was accused of breaking into the flooded USS Ling submarine on the Hackensack River with four other people was admitted to a program that will erase the charges against him if he keeps his nose clean. Robert J. Hemberger, 41, of Island Park, NY, must complete 10 hours of community service, among various conditions of the New Jersey Superior Court Pre-Trial Intervention Program, for his role in the summer 2018 invasion of the World War II submarine. Bird Flu Has Landed In NJ
There's a bird flu outbreak in the United States, but so far only wild ducks have been infected in New Jersey, specifically in Cape May, authorities said. While the outbreak is driving up the price of eggs and chicken nationwide, properly cooked foul is harmless to humans even when it's infected by the flu, agriculture experts say. The current bird flu outbreak, first reported in a commercial turkey flock in Indiana, is considered the worst since 2015. 19: Error Allows Employees At Area Private School Access To Vaccine, Report Says
Nearly a dozen faculty and staff at a private school received the COVID-19 vaccination ahead of health care professionals and long-term care residents due to an email error. On Monday, Jan. 4, Head of School at The Williams School Mark Fader said that 11 faculty and staff had taken the vaccine after the school was informed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that the employees were eligible to participate in one of the first rounds of vaccinations, the New London Day reported.
