NJ Surgeon Dies After Medical Episode On Garden State Parkway: Njsp A 54-year-old Toms River surgeon died following a medical episode while driving on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County on Thursday, Jan. 30, authorities said. At 7:10 a.m., Dr. Jarrod Kaufman was driving a Tesla Model Y northbound on the Garden State Parkway in Lakewood Township, when his vehicle veered off the roadway into a briar patch, Chares Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  Kaufman sustained a medical episode and was pronounced dead at the scene, Marchan said. The state Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability made the footage public on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The video showed the Friday, Apr. 19 encounter that ended with the death of 47-year-old John Cassidy. King died more than 24 hours after he was arrested in Fairfield Township. Man Has 'Medical Episode' In Cape May County: Njsp A report of a pedestrian struck by a truck turned out to be false in Cape May County, New Jersey State Police said. When troopers arrived at 2046 Dennisville-Petersburg Road at 2:09 p.m. Friday, they found that a 60-year-old man suffered a medical episode and was not struck by a vehicle, said Sgt. Alejandro Goez, a State Police spokesman. The victim did not sustain any injuries and was not transported to the hospital, Goez said.
