An 18-year-old Warren County teenager was arrested and charged after firing a gun in Philipsburg on Monday, Feb. 24, authorities said.
At 3:15 P.M., members of the Phillipsburg Police Department responded to the area of Stockton Street, Spruce Alley, and Sitgreaves Street after receiving an alert from Phillipsburg's ShotSpotter, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said.
Upon patrol's arrival, officers were informed that no one had been shot but that an individual, later identified as Jared Benka-Coker had discharged a firearm, authorities said.

Igor Kirilenko is charged with murdering Gregory Ginzburg, a 72-year-old Edison resident at a home on Clive Hills Road.
Police originally responded to a 911 call from Ginzburg who said Kirilenko was in his home with a gun, according to the criminal complaint. During the call, a loud noise, believed to be a gunshot, was heard, authorities said.

A Perth Amboy detective remains in stable condition after he was shot while executing an arrest warrant in Rahway on the evening of Wednesday, July 24, authorities said.
At 8:32 p.m., the detective, who has not been identified, was shot by 20-year-old Rahway resident Angel Santiago, who is a suspect in an aggravated assault that occurred in Perth Amboy Tuesday, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Rahway Police Director Nicholas Breiner said.
