A months-long investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force led to the bust, according to Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland. The DEA, Middle Township Police, and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team assisted in executing multiple court-authorized search warrants.
During the coordinated operation, officers searched several homes and seized under a half-ounce of meth and crack, along with distribution-related drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said.
Four residents were charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
Two suspects were released on a summons, while two others were taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center pending court proceedings.
A third-degree felony in New Jersey carries a potential prison sentence of three to five years.
Sutherland said his office will continue targeting illegal drugs and guns with the help of federal and local law enforcement. Tips can be submitted anonymously at cmcpo.tips or by calling 609-465-1135.
