The shooting happened on Monday, Nov. 18 just before 1 p.m., when two people were seen exchanging gunfire in the area of 311 North Ave. in New Rochelle near the city's transit center parking garage, New Rochelle Police Captain J. Collins Coyne said on Tuesday, Nov. 19.  Arriving officers soon found a victim with gunshot wounds in the area of Huguenot Street and North Avenue and began giving medical aid to him. Blaze Breaks Out At Shopping Plaza In Eastchester: Developing Firefighters were seen battling a blaze at a shopping plaza in Westchester.  The fire broke out on Monday afternoon, Nov. 18 at the Vernon Place Shops in the area of 717 White Plains Rd. near the border of Eastchester and Scarsdale, according to reports.  Smoke was seen pouring out of the shopping center's roof.  A large police and firefighter presence is now at the shopping center. Scammer Calling Victims, Posing As Police In Westchester Authorities in Westchester are warning residents to be wary of a caller posing as police who asks about personal information.  In an announcement on Friday, Nov. 15, the Westchester County Police Department advised residents about a scheme involving a scammer posing as officers over the phone.  According to the department, the scammer will call residents and claim to be from the "Westchester County Sheriff's Department."  They will then tell victims that they have failed to report for jury duty before seeking to "verify" personal information, police said. Car Fire Causes Road Closure In Bedford Part of a busy road in Northern Westchester was closed after a vehicle caught on fire.  The blaze happened on Sunday, Nov. 17 just before 9 p.m., when flames were seen coming from a car at the intersection of Darlington Road and South Bedford Road (Route 172) in Bedford, according to the Bedford Fire Department.
