At 11:48 a.m., officers responded to Route 70 and Green Acres Road and found a black 2004 Mack dump truck overturned on its passenger side, Manchester Township police said.
An investigation determined the dump truck driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle while making a left turn into the entrance of the Ocean County Landfill, police said.
The driver, a 65-year-old Point Pleasant man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, police said. The roadway was partially closed during the investigation and cleanup, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
