A multimillion-dollar project to cap 16 acres of the Egg Harbor Township landfill is moving forward, aiming to reduce odors and address concerns raised by Atlantic County residents, officials said. The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) will permanently cap 16 acres of the landfill, the agency said in a news release on Tuesday, Nov. 26. An Absecon man serving more than half a century for a violent home invasion was additionally sentenced for running a drug ring out of an Atlantic City hotel, authorities said. A Ventnor City man will spend several years in prison after stabbing a man in Absecon on New Year's Day nearly four years ago, authorities said. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle along a Jersey Shore roadway over Labor Day Weekend, authorities said. A Galloway Township man wanted in an Atlantic City robbery was taken into custody on a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. Four Atlantic City boys were accused of stealing an SUV and driving it across Atlantic County, authorities said. A 14-year-old, a 13-year-old, and two 12-year-old boys were given several charges, the Galloway Township Police Department said in a news release on Monday, Aug. 12. An Atlantic City man was indicted in the death of a teen pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash in Absecon, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 52-year-old Everette Williams on Tuesday, June 4, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.
