School Bus Crash On I-287 In Westchester Sends 2 Passengers To Hospital
A morning rush hour crash involving three vehicles, including a school bus, sent two people to the hospital in Westchester County.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Friday, May 9, on Interstate 287 eastbound near Exit 5 in Greenburgh, according to New York State Police.
Investigators say a Honda, driven by a 34-year-old White Plains woman, was traveling in the right lane when she was hit from behind by a bus, driven by a 66-year-old Bronx man.
Moments later, the bus was struck from behind by a third vehicle driven by a 40-year-old White Plains man, police said.

Murphy, 81, died at his home at 9 Alice St. in Beacon on Tuesday, April 15 after a fast-moving fire broke out just after 6:20 p.m. Three other relatives were injured in the blaze, including his 15-year-old great-grandson, who was left in critical condition with severe burns at Westchester Medical Center, as Daily Voice reported.

A Westchester jury has found a man guilty of murder for a brutal 2022 beating that left his victim unrecognizable, prosecutors announced.
White Plains resident Jare Diaz, age 27, was convicted of second-degree murder in the fatal attack of 38-year-old Otoniel Guzman-Desdicho on Nov. 26, 2022, Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace said Monday, Feb. 10.

The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Jan. 12 around 12:30 p.m., when a motorcycle crashed on Croton Falls Rd. (Route 34) in Mahopac after failing to negotiate a turn, losing control, and hitting a guardrail, Carmel Police Lt. Michael Bodo said on Monday, Jan. 13.
The rider, a 50-year-old Mahopac resident, suffered traumatic injuries to his lower body and pelvic area, Bodo said.

A woman was hospitalized after losing control of her vehicle and crashing on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester, authorities said.
The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, near Route 120 in Chappaqua, according to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran O’Leary.
The woman, driving an Acura SUV southbound, lost control, causing the car to slide off the road, strike a rock wall on the right, and then veer back onto the parkway before hitting a guide rail on the left side.
