The projects are part of an $18 million-dollar bond referendum that was passed in December 2014.

The project’s primary focus is a new orchestra classroom addition with an approximate measurement of 3,400 square feet. The existing middle school music area was too small to accommodate both the orchestra and band program together. A new dedicated orchestra room will allow the orchestra program and the band program to have separate yet adjacent learning spaces.

New storage space will also be created in order to properly store music and theater equipment. Renovations will include creating an additional general music classroom by repurposing an area that is currently being utilized as a practice/storage space.

Furthermore, all new and renovated spaces will receive infrastructure upgrades including mechanical, electrical and plumbing.

The project will be implemented throughout the school year and the new addition is planned to be ready for use in September 2017.
