YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was charged with driving under the influence at twice the legal limit after driving his car off the roadway near the Taconic State Parkway, according to the Yorktown Police.
Ryan May, 38, was arrested after police responded to a call of a car that had run off the roadway and into the woods at the intersection of Route 129 and Underhill Road, police said.
When officers arrived on scene they found May outside the car and realized he was intoxicated. After being arrested, his blood alcohol content was tested, which came back at 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
May was processed at Yorktown Police headquarters and later released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13.
