Frederick A. Farina, 63, Lifelong East Rutherford Resident

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Lifelong East Rutherford resident Frederick A. "Fred" Farina died Sunday, June 5. He was 63.

Farina graduated from Becton Regional High School in 1972 and was a musician and artist. 

A bass guitarist, Farina's bands included Public Service, Stone Deaf, Bandit, Diamonds In The Rough, Ferrit and the Weasels, Red Neck Road, Karen Ann and Southern Reign, and most recently, No Sweat. 

For many years he was a security officer and most recently worked for UFS Personnel Corp. in Totowa. 

Farina is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria J. (Kutney); his son, Daniel P. Farina and his wife, Jennifer Fattal; his grandsons, Anthony Joseph "A.J." Farina and Nicholas Andrew Farina; his brother, John Farina and his wife, Bernadette; his sister, Carol Grolli and her husband, Paul; and his brother, Jimmy Farina and his wife, Marianne. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Farina was predeceased by his parents, James and Dorothy Farina.

A memorial visitation will be conducted from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt with a memorial service at 7 p.m. to celebrate his life. 

Cremation will be private.
