State Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed a Chase Bank in the A&P at the Cortlandt Town Center in Mohegan Lake on Wednesday morning. According to State Police in Cortlandt a man claimed to have a gun when he robbed the bank at about 9:15 a.m. He left with about $3,000.
A Yorktown man has been accused of sending threatening text messages and breaking into a former acquaintance’s house in the Lake Peekskill section of Purtnam Valley, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Once inside the house around 10:30 a.m. on July 21, Quincy Fernandez, 30, pushed her 5-year-old son and pushed her onto her bed, police said. He reportedly then left the premises.
Three Yorktown residents were honored this week at the "Spirit of Yorktown" awards. Anthony Grasso, won the John Hand Award, Douglas Colety, was the recipient of the Spirit of Yorktown Award and former Assemblyman Bob Castelli was recognized as Public Servant of the Year.
