YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Here are the top stories in Yorktown this week.
- The 78-year-old Yorktown man who was reported missing Monday was found dead in a single-vehicle crash in New Castle, police said Tuesday. Garrison "Gary" R. Corwin Jr., of Yorktown Heights, was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m. Monday after New York State Police and New Castle Police discovered his silver Mini Cooper over an embankment on Campfire Road and the Taconic State Parkway in Millwood, New Castle Police said Tuesday.
- The initial story of Corwin Jr. being reported missing Monday was also one of the top stories this week. Corwin Jr. had last been seen leaving the American Yacht Club on Stuyvesant Avenue in Rye at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
- Two Yorktown employees who filed a lawsuit against the Town of Yorktown and former Town Supervisor Susan Siegel will not seek an appeal after their case was dismissed this week. State Supreme Court Justice William J. Giacomo ruled in favor of the defendants' motion for summary judgment dismissing complaints from Highway Superintendent Eric DiBartolo and Highway Department employee Patricia Cole that Siegel made defamatory statements against them.
