PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. - Route 6 is getting a makeover.
Five miles of Route 6 from Route 52 to Tilly Foster Road in Carmel will be getting paved and repaired as part of a $103.8 million infrastructure investment throughout the mid-Hudson Valley. The state will spend $1.7 million on the project.
“Safe and reliable infrastructure is the backbone of any economy and this funding will help ensure roadways across the region remain in good repair and able to meet the needs of New Yorkers, businesses and visitors alike,” Governor Andrew Cuomo
The funds are part of a total $403.3 million for pavement improvements on nearly 1,700 miles of roadway across New York State, including budgeted capital construction funds and $100 million in new funding.
The project will be completed this year.
