The crash happened just before 11:45 p.m. along the southbound shoulder of Spook Hill Road in Wappinger, just south of Myers Corners Road. There, a black motorcycle struck a female pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said on Sunday, April 13.
The woman sustained significant injuries to her upper left arm and lower leg, authorities said.
The motorcycle was last seen heading south on Spook Hill Road and may have been traveling with at least one other motorcycle, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The rider is described as wearing a black puffy jacket and a black helmet. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
