YONKERS, N.Y. -- The family of a man shot in 2005 during a confrontation with police could receive a settlement of nearly $70,000 after the Yonkers City Council votes Tuesday night, according to a report by lohud.com.
David Horn Sr., a 37-year-old parolee from the Bronx, died after leading police on a three-mile chase and then trying to run officers over after he was cornered in the city, according to lohud and other media reports.
The family sued, claiming excessive force was used against the unarmed man, the lohud story said.
While the council is expected to approve the $67,500 settlement at its 7 p.m. meeting, the city is not admitting any wrongdoing in the Horn case, the lohud story said.
