Two Women Charged With Stealing $696 Worth Of Merchandise From Macy's

Two women have been charged after police say they stole nearly $700 in merchandise from a Macy’s store.

Yorktown Police say they responded to Macy’s in the Jefferson Valley Mall on a report of a larceny on Saturday, May 18 around 7:45 p.m.

Police say they were provided with a description of the suspects and their vehicle and subsequently located the vehicle on Route 6.

Further investigation revealed that the two suspects, identified as Barbara Pettiford, 54, of Mount Vernon and Kwasheena Stinson, 31, of Valhalla entered the Macy’s department store and stole property with a total value of $696, according to police.

Pettiford and Stinson were arrested at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

Both suspects were charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Pettiford was ticketed, released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, June 20.

Stinson was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $300 cash bail. She is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 21.
