Man, 20, Held Woman In Car Against Her Will On Long Island Expressway, Police Say

A 20-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a teenage woman reported she was being held against her will inside a car on the Long Island Expressway overnight.

A 19-year-old woman called 911 at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 stating that she was being held against her wishes and gave a description of the vehicle she was in, Nassau County Police said. 

Officers observed the vehicle, a black 2019 Honda on the Long Island Expressway at Exit 48 in Plainview and conducted a stop.

After an investigation, Pollak Rahman, 20, of East Elmhurst was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported.

Rahman was charged with:

  • second-degree unlawful imprisonment, 
  • operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol and less than 21 years of age,
  • multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. 

He will be arraigned on Sunday, Feb. 16 in First District Court in Hempstead.
