YONKERS, N.Y. - Thomas M. Girven of Yonkers died Sunday, Aug. 25. He was 77.
Girven was born Sept. 3, 1935, in the Bronx. He was the son of John and Catherine (McCabe) Girven. He served in the Army during the Korean war from Dec. 4,1958 to Nov. 22, 1960. He was employed by Macy's as an insurance underwriter and salesman.
Girven is survived by his daughter, Deidre Girven of Yonkers; son, Thomas M. Girven, Jr. of Bronxville; brother, Charles; two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Ann Marie (nee Finnerty); and daughter, Patricia Parella.
Calling hours are Aug. 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at St. Barnabas Church, 409 East 241st St., Bronx. Burial will follow in the Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
