Robert Knoblock, 88, Yonkers WWII Veteran

YONKERS, N.Y. – Robert M. Knoblock of Yonkers died Friday, Sept. 14. He was 88. 

Born May 31, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, Knoblock served in the Army during World War II. He was stationed in France and assigned to the 757th Railway Shop Battalion. Knoblock worked as a printing supervisor for Histacount in Long Island and Farrand Controls in Valhalla. 

He was an active parishioner at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Yonkers. He enjoyed playing cards, tennis, bowling and golf and was an avid New York Yankees fan. 

Knoblock is survived by three children, Stephen (Braddon Mehrten) Knoblock, of Yonkers, Robert S. Knoblock, of Fishkill, N.Y., and Patricia (John) Kothe, of Yorktown Heights; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine Thiele; and two wives, Mary Kosar Knoblock and Alice Graven Knoblock. 

Visitation was Sunday at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Memorial donations can be made to Most Holy Trinity Church Choir.
