YONKERS, N.Y. – Nicholas F. DiMucci of Yonkers died Nov. 22 at St. Patrick's Home in the Bronx, N.Y., after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 87.
DiMucci worked for the New York City Department of Sanitation.
He was born May 21, 1925, in the Bronx to Francis and Maria Lanza DiMucci. He served in the Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. He married Loretta J. Pinto at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx on June 29, 1957.
DiMucci was an avid dancer and also enjoyed singing and loved jazz. He was a former member of the St. Raymond's Knights of Columbus in the Bronx.
DiMucci is survived by his wife, Loretta J. DiMucci, of Yonkers; two children, Diane (James) Darienzo, of the Bronx, and Nicholas (Patricia) DiMucci, of Cary, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Carmine DiMucci and Pasquale DiMucci; two sisters, Nancy DiMucci and Josephine Campanile; and a niece, Janet Campanile.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Eugene's Church in Yonkers. Sinatra Funeral Home in Yonkers handled arrangements.
