A local resident since 1988, she was previously of Yonkers and Long Island.
Born in the Bronx on Feb. 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Bridget McHugh Carter.
Cawley worked in the clerical department for the Department of Corrections in the Down State Facility, retiring in 2005.
She enjoyed playing cards, going to plays and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by her three daughters, Bridget M. Wojner (Michael); Kimberly Ann Fusco, and Karen M. Karis (Peter), and her grandchildren Nicole Wojner, Francis and Anthony Fusco and Elizabeth and Andrew Karis.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her two brothers James and Thomas Carter.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, March 16 at 1 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
