YONKERS, N.Y. Florence "Candy" Caragine, a former Yonkers teacher, died Oct. 15 after a prolonged illness. She was 65.
She was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Yonkers to Florence and Everett Jones. She worked as a teacher for more than 40 years, teaching at St. Denis School and Sacred Heart High School.
Caragine is survived by her husband, Frank Caragine, of Yonkers; a sister, Kerri-Ann Jones; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Beck.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers.
