Edward J. Drenga, 87, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Edward J. Drenga, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Monday, Oct. 19, at age 87. 

He attended local schools and graduated from Saunders High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945-47. 

He was employed as a foreman for Con Edison for 36 years. Married to his "traveling partner," wife Dorothy, for 62 years, they traveled throughout the United States and spent winters in the Florida Keys. 

He was the husband of the late Dorothy T. Drenga (nee Hvozdik), father of Edward (Mary) Drenga, Lorraine (Walter) Borek, Gloria (John) Perrin and Daniel Drenga; brother of Dorothy (Vincent) Bukovsky; grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of six. 

He was predeceased by his son, Michael Drenga, and siblings, Frank and Josephine. 

Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
