Anthony F. Cancellaro, 93, Of Yonkers, Worked For U.S. Postal Service

YONKERS, N.Y. - Anthony F. Cancellaro, a lifetime Yonkers resident died June 15. He was 93.

Cancellaro served in the United States Army during World War II in China and was a decorated staff sergeant. For 25 years he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Yonkers.

Cancellaro is survived by his sons, Robert (Minnie) Cancellaro, James (Mary) Cancellaro; daughters, Toni (Nicholas) Volchok, and Cecelia (Eric) Cancellaro; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and brother, Vincent DeAngelo. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty).

Calling hours are Monday, June 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 at St. Mary Church. Entombment in Mount Hope Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Service of Lower Hudson Valley.
