YONKERS, N.Y. -- Auditors from the New York State Comptroller's Office have been taking a look at payroll and retirement payment issues, lohud.com has reported.
The auditors have been examining the books of the city and school district regarding spending on personnel, and they've alerted the state pension system to some possible issues, according to lohud.com.
John Liszewski, commissioner of Yonkers' Department of Finance, told the Yonkers Board of Education's Audit, Budget and Finance Committee that the issues didn't seem serious, lohud.com reported -- but he didn't get into detail on what they were.
