'Sexually Violent' Offender Reports Move Within Yonkers

A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl has reported an address change in Westchester County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Monday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 54-year-old Andre Jones, who has moved to an apartment on St. Andrews Place in Yonkers.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Jones as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Jones sexually abused his victim in September 2000 and was convicted of first-degree sexual assault in 2002. He was arrested by the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit and sentenced to a term of between 18 months and three years in state prison. He remains under the jurisdiction of law enforcement officials in Yonkers.
