YONKERS, N.Y. -- Westchester County prosecutors continue to push to have neglect complaints presented to a grand jury in the criminal investigation of the death of a disabled Yonkers girl in 2012, according to LoHud.com.
The district attorney's office is appealing to the Court of Appeals to reverse an earlier ruling to ban five unfounded complaints of neglect made against Alayah-Rose Savarese's mother to a grand jury, LoHud.com reported.
Savarese was found dead in July 2012 and her parents are set to inherit her $2.1 million estate, according to LoHud.com.
